iPad app for estimations and reporting

Challenge
Mitsubishi technicians need to create HVAC estimations in the field.
Result
Intridea designed, developed, and deployed the first HVAC load calculation application for the Apple iPad. Technicians now have access to their data where they need it and when they need it.

Modernize and streamline the HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) estimation process for technicians: this was Mitsubishi Electric’s vision when they approached us to help them develop their newest iPad application.

Mitsubishi Electric Cooling & Heating is the leading marketer of Mitsubishi Electric’s air-conditioning and heating technology in the U.S. and beyond.

Intridea worked with Mitsubishi to develop meQuote, an iPad application their technicians can use to size HVAC cooling and heating equipment onsite. For the first time HVAC technicians can instantly send detailed reports to their customers or store them in the cloud for access anytime and anywhere.

Our mobile team integrated a database which includes information on building construction types and weather data for thousands of cities across the country, making it easy for technicians to create multiple projects and instantly generate reports, whether they’re working in a residential or commercial setting. Estimates and reports are difficult to process without a visual reference; that’s why our team designed a media component, allowing reports to be augmented with photos of equipment, conditions, and anything else that aids them in the load calculation process.

The meQuote iPad app encompasses the entire estimation process, from images, to products, to physical HVAC calculations importation and then finally output estimates. With our expertise in interface design and mobile development we were able to help Mitsubishi change the way HVAC contractors and technicians do business.
